Prime Minister Narendra Modi will distribute 71,000 appointment letters on Thursday, marking the fourth tranche of jobs given as part of the Centre’s mission to fill all 10 lakh vacancies in the central government departments by the end of this year. Almost 2.9 lakh people have been appointed to central government jobs in the last six months. Last year in July, the PM had announced that all 10 lakh central government vacancies would be filled up in 18 months in mission mode by the end of 2023. All ministries have been asked to immediately place an indent for recruitment against such increasing vacancies this year.
The PM had last year in July announced that all 10 lakh central government vacancies would be filled up in 18 months in mission mode by the end of 2023. This would be a key achievement which will be cited by the BJP in the 2024 general elections. The central government of India has factored in that 54,320 more vacancies could arise by the end of 2024 due to the scheduled retirements of government officials. In response, all ministries have been requested to promptly place an indent for recruitment against such increasing vacancies this year. This move comes as part of the Centre’s mission to fill all 10 lakh central government vacancies by the end of 2023, which was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in July last year. This achievement will likely be cited by the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the 2024 general elections. The government has already appointed nearly 2.9 lakh people to central government jobs in the last six months, and PM Modi is set to distribute 71,000 more appointment letters on Thursday.
