The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has mentioned Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders Sanjay Singh and Raghav Chadha in a supplementary chargesheet related to the liquor policy case. The chargesheet also names Arvind Kejriwal, the Delhi Chief Minister, and other leaders of the party. However, Sanjay Singh and Raghav Chadha have not been named as accused in the case.
Raghav Chadha was mentioned in witness statements regarding a meeting held at the home of former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, who was arrested in February in connection with the case. Chadha has denied any wrongdoing and called media reports that labeled him as an accused in the case as “malicious propaganda”. He stated that he had not been named as an accused or even a suspect in any of the complaints filed by the ED.
The case pertains to alleged irregularities in the framing and implementation of a new liquor policy in Delhi, which was scrapped within nine months amid allegations of corruption. The ED is investigating allegations of money laundering and corruption in the case.
AAP has been critical of the ED’s investigation and has accused the central government of using the agency to target its leaders. The party has stated that it is committed to transparency and fighting corruption and that the allegations against its leaders are baseless.
The case has become a political issue in Delhi, with opposition parties accusing the AAP of corruption and misuse of power. The ruling party has dismissed the allegations and has accused the opposition of engaging in political mudslinging.
