A 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a horrifying murder that took place on a Delhi street. The suspect, identified as Sahil, allegedly confessed to committing the crime in a fit of rage and shockingly stated that he had no regrets. The victim, a 16-year-old girl, tragically lost her life after being brutally stabbed 22 times and crushed with a rock in a savage attack witnessed by numerous bystanders.
Sahil, who works as an air conditioner repairman, was apprehended in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, following a thorough investigation. He has been placed in police custody as further inquiries continue. During the initial overnight interrogation, Sahil reportedly expressed no remorse for his actions, according to law enforcement officials.
In his statement to the police, Sahil claimed that the girl had expressed a desire to end their relationship and was involved with her former boyfriend. He went on to describe the ex-boyfriend as a troublemaker whom he feared. Sahil had been in a relationship with the victim for three years, but recently she had decided to call it off, which allegedly fueled his anger. The police sources revealed that Sahil confessed to becoming incensed as the girl had been ignoring him for some time leading up to the incident.
According to reports, Sahil was under the influence of alcohol when he launched the attack. On the evening of the incident, the victim was on her way to a friend’s son’s birthday party when Sahil confronted her, pinning her against a wall and repeatedly stabbing her in full view of the public. Disturbing CCTV footage captured the horrifying incident, showing Sahil relentlessly stabbing the defenseless teenager and even kicking her, refusing to halt his assault even after she became motionless. He then proceeded to pick up a large stone slab and strike her multiple times, leaving the scene momentarily only to return and smash her head with the slab. Shockingly, passersby witnessed the gruesome attack but failed to intervene, as depicted in the footage.
The lifeless body of the young girl remained on the street for approximately 25 minutes before someone finally alerted the police. Authorities discovered that she had suffered a total of 34 wounds on her body, and her skull had been fractured as a result of the violent assault.
After the incident, Sahil allegedly disposed of the knife and his phone before boarding a bus to Bulandshahr, where he sought refuge at his aunt’s residence. It has also been reported that the victim had previously threatened to involve the police if Sahil did not keep his distance, even resorting to using a toy pistol to scare him away. The day before the murder, the two had engaged in a heated argument.
As the investigation progresses, the police are looking into the possibility that Sahil may have changed to establish a connection with the victim. This tragic incident has once again brought attention to the alarming issue of violence against women and the urgent need for stricter measures to ensure their safety and protection within society.
