The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, accused the Congress party’s chief ministerial candidate in the state, Kamal Nath, of being chosen on the basis of his “huge wealth”. He claimed that Nath had an aeroplane, helicopter, cars, property, and wealth, but added that his party had the public on their side. Nath challenged Chouhan to name any company or industry he owns, calling him a liar who cannot digest his food without lying. A Congress Rajya Sabha member, Vivek Tankha, also denied endorsing Nath’s financial capabilities as reported by a newspaper.Kamal Nath, a former chief minister of Madhya Pradesh and a Congress leader, responded to Shivraj Chouhan’s allegation that the Congress chose him as its chief ministerial face in the state on the basis of his “huge wealth.” Nath challenged Chouhan to name any company or industry he owns, and called him a liar who cannot digest his food without lying.
