Union Home Minister Amit Shah has clarified that former Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik has been called for the third time by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) as part of an ongoing investigation into an alleged insurance scam. Shah denied any connection between the summons and Malik’s allegations against the BJP-led government, stating that the government has not done anything that needs to be hidden from the public. Shah also commented on Malik’s allegations, stating that they should be evaluated by journalists and the public, and questioning why he did not raise such issues while in power. Regarding the upcoming Karnataka elections, Shah expressed confidence that the BJP will return to power with an absolute majority, stating that there was no chance of a hung assembly. Polling for the Karnataka assembly elections will be held on May 10, with results expected on May 13. Asked about JD(S), he said voting for it “means voting for Congress”.
