Union Home Minister Amit Shah praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts to make India more respectable in the world during a function in Ahmedabad. Shah highlighted the gestures of respect PM Modi received from heads of state, including a state leader seeking his autograph and another touching his feet for blessings.
Shah referred to the recent Quad meeting where the leaders of the United States and Australia mentioned the requests they were receiving from prominent citizens to attend PM Modi’s upcoming state visits to Washington DC and Sydney. Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison recalled the overwhelming welcome PM Modi received at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Gujarat, with more than 90,000 people present during his victory lap. In a lighthearted moment, US President Joe Biden suggested that PM Modi should take his autograph.
Shah also mentioned Papua New Guinea Prime Minister James Marape, who touched PM Modi’s feet as a mark of respect during the Indian leader’s maiden visit to the country. Shah emphasized that the honor bestowed upon PM Modi reflects not only his stature but also the pride of 1.3 billion citizens, particularly Gujaratis.
The Home Minister expressed confidence in PM Modi’s mission to enhance India’s global standing. He stated that PM Modi’s tireless efforts would contribute to making India more acceptable and respected worldwide.
During the event, Shah inaugurated several projects initiated by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, including a sewerage pumping station, a fire station, a library, a lake beautification project, and a shelter for the homeless. He also participated in the online draw for 2,501 houses built for citizens belonging to the lower-income group.
Earlier in the day, Shah flagged off electric state transport buses, further emphasizing the government’s commitment to sustainable and eco-friendly transportation solutions.
Shah’s remarks highlight the international recognition and admiration received by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, symbolizing the efforts to elevate India’s stature on the global stage.
