Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has launched a veiled attack on the BJP-led NDA, saying those who will vote for them in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections will bring destruction on themselves. Kumar claimed that he has been working to forge opposition unity against the BJP-led government at the Centre before the 2024 general elections. During his two-day visit to Delhi earlier this week, Mr Kumar and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav met AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. The JD(U) leader alleged that the “BJP-led government at the Centre has done nothing for the country or Bihar, other than propaganda”.The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted searches in multiple cities of Bihar on March 10, 2023, as part of a money laundering investigation into the “land for jobs scam” case. The case involves RJD’s national president Lalu Prasad and his wife Rabri Devi, who were earlier questioned by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the case. The ED is investigating allegations that Lalu Prasad and his family members acquired properties in exchange for providing government jobs and other favours during their tenure in power in Bihar. The investigation is ongoing, and further details may emerge as the probe progresses.
It is important to promote unity and discourage the spread of hatred in society. Babasaheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar played a significant role in drafting the Indian Constitution, which ensured rights for all citizens, including the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and other marginalized communities. Therefore, it is necessary to respect the Constitution and work towards the betterment of society by promoting harmony and equality. Those who spread hatred should be held accountable for their actions and face appropriate punishment under the law.
