The Kerala Legislative Budget Meeting will begin on January 23rd (today). Kerala Finance Minister KN Balagopal will announce the third budget on February 3rd. The session will begin with a traditional speech by Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan. The budget session he will continue until February 20th and from February 27th he will resume after a one-week break until March 30th.

Possibility of price hike for drinking water
Drinking water prices could reportedly rise, and the finance minister expects the biggest revenue mobilization. The issue of buffer zones will also come up in budget discussions in Congress. CPI-M leader Shahnawaz has been suspended from a party branch committee on suspicion of involvement in drug smuggling, and Congress will take up the issue in detail in the House of Representatives.
