The trailer for the much-awaited film Adipurush was released on Tuesday. The film, directed by Om Raut, is based on the epic Indian tale of the Ramayana and stars Prabhas as Raghav, Kriti Sanon as Janaki, Sunny Singh as Shesh, and Devdatta Nage as Hanuman. Saif Ali Khan will be seen as the antagonist Lankesh. The three-minute-long trailer gives us a glimpse of some of the pivotal scenes from the Ramayana, including the Sitaharan scene featuring Saif Ali Khan and Kriti Sanon, Hanuman carrying Sanjeevani Buti, and the building of the Ram Setu scene. The trailer ends with a shot of Saif Ali Khan laughing evilly, hinting at the epic battle between Raghav and Lankesh that will unfold in the film.
Prabhas took to social media to share the trailer with his fans, captioning it, “Hari Anant, Hari Katha Ananta. Adipurush Trailer is out now! Adipurush in cinemas worldwide on 16th June.” The film is set to release in theatres in IMAX and 3D on June 16 and has been produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Om Raut, Prasad Sutar, and Rajesh Nair of Retrophiles.
Adipurush will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam in theatres. The film was initially slated to release on August 11 last year but the makers shifted its release date to avoid a clash with Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha. The move was appreciated by Aamir Khan himself, who thanked the makers of Adipurush.
The film has already generated a lot of buzz and excitement among fans, who have been eagerly awaiting its release. Prabhas is a popular South Indian actor who gained nationwide fame after his role in the Baahubali series. Kriti Sanon, on the other hand, is a Bollywood actress who has starred in several successful films such as Dilwale, Bareilly Ki Barfi, and Luka Chuppi.
