President Joe Biden had stumble on stage during a visit to the Air Force Academy in Colorado, but thankfully he appeared to be unhurt and even made a lighthearted joke about the incident. The 80-year-old president was delivering a commencement address to the academy’s graduates when he tripped over an obstacle while walking back to his seat after shaking hands with a cadet.
Air Force personnel quickly came to his aid and helped him back up, and he seemed to be fine and did not require further assistance. As he got back on his feet, Biden pointed to the object that had caused him to stumble, which appeared to be a small black sandbag on the stage. White House Communications Director Ben LaBolt later confirmed on Twitter that Biden was okay and explained that there was a sandbag on the stage while he was shaking hands.
However, Biden’s misfortune didn’t end there. Later, as he was returning to the White House on Air Force One and Marine One, he accidentally bumped his head while exiting the helicopter. Despite these minor incidents, Biden showed no signs of injury as he walked across the South Lawn, and he joked with reporters, saying, “I got sandbagged.”
It’s worth noting that President Biden, who is the oldest person ever to hold the presidency, has received a clean bill of health from his official doctor this year, declaring him physically fit. He exercises regularly to maintain his well-being. In November 2020, shortly after winning the election against the incumbent Donald Trump, Biden broke his foot while playing with his pet dog.
Although these incidents may garner attention due to Biden’s age, they are relatively minor and have not had any significant impact on his ability to carry out his presidential duties. As he continues his term and looks ahead to the possibility of seeking re-election in the 2024 election, Biden’s physical fitness and health will remain important factors to monitor.
