The Uttar Pradesh Police have found blood-like stains inside the partially demolished office of Atiq Ahmed, the gangster-turned-politician who was shot dead along with his brother Ashraf on April 15. The stains were found near the staircase and next to the kitchen, and a knife was also recovered during the investigation. Atiq and his brother were brought to Prayagraj in connection with the Umesh Pal murder case, in which Atiq was the main accused. Umesh Pal, a key witness in the murder of BSP MLA Raju Pal, was shot dead on February 24. Asad, Atiq’s son, was killed in a police encounter in Jhansi on April 13.
