Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, a veteran of the Cannes Film Festival, was recently spotted at Mumbai airport, en route to the French Riviera. This year marks her 21st appearance at the prestigious festival, and as usual, she was accompanied by her 11-year-old daughter, Aaradhya, who has been her travel companion to Cannes since she was a baby. Aishwarya dressed elegantly in black with her signature red lip, took the time to pose for selfies with fans before entering the airport. Aaradhya, dressed comfortably in jeans and a denim jacket, was ready for the flight ahead.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan made her debut at Cannes in 2002 when her film “Devdas” was being screened at the festival. She was accompanied by her co-star Shah Rukh Khan. Since then, Aishwarya has become a regular attendee of Cannes as part of the L’Oreal contingent. She has graced the red carpet alongside fellow brand ambassadors such as Eva Longoria.
Aishwarya has also hosted the amfAR Gala with her husband, Abhishek Bachchan, in the past. Her presence at Cannes has always been highly anticipated, and she is considered one of the biggest celebrities at the festival, beloved by fans, and a favorite face on the famous Croisette.
This year has been particularly special for Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. She recently enjoyed the success of “Ponniyin Selvan 2,” the conclusion of Mani Ratnam’s two-part epic film about the Chola kingdom.
Aishwarya received critical acclaim for her portrayal of Nandini, a character with a complex love-hate relationship with Chola prince Aditha Karikalan, whom she eventually assassinates. “Ponniyin Selvan,” the first part of the film, was released last year and features a star-studded cast, including Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Trisha, Sobhita Dhulipala, and Aishwarya Lekshmi.
Before Aishwarya’s departure, other Bollywood actresses, including Sara Ali Khan and Esha Gupta, made stunning appearances on the red carpet at Cannes.
