These specialised cards, designed to facilitate G20 delegates and international visitors exploring the city, offer unlimited rides within the extensive Delhi Metro network.
The G20 Leaders’ Summit is scheduled to be held in the heart of New Delhi from September 9 to 10, attracting prominent global figures and dignitaries. To cater to their transportation needs and provide an opportunity for exploring the capital’s prominent tourist destinations, Delhi Metro has unveiled these dedicated ‘Tourist Smart Cards.’
Cards available in Two categories
These cards are available in two categories: a one-day validity card priced at ₹200 and a three-day validity card priced at ₹500. The cost includes a refundable security deposit of ₹50, ensuring the cards remain an accessible and convenient option for visitors.
While ‘Tourist Smart Cards’ are available year-round, the dedicated counters are being established specifically for the G20 Summit to streamline the process for delegates and international visitors. This initiative aims to enhance the overall experience of visitors to Delhi, making it easier for them to traverse the city using the efficient metro network.
The 36 stations where these specialized cards will be sold through dedicated counters include some of the most well-connected and central locations in the city. These stations include Kashmere Gate, Chandni Chowk, Chawri Bazar, New Delhi, Rajiv Chowk, Patel Chowk, Central Secretariat, Udyog Bhawan, Lok Kalyan Marg, and Supreme Court metro stations.
This strategic move by Delhi Metro not only supports the transportation needs of G20 Summit attendees but also promotes Delhi as a vibrant and accessible tourist destination. By offering convenient and cost-effective travel options, the city aims to leave a lasting impression on its international guests and further enhance its reputation as a global hub.
