Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot praised the Gandhi family and its pivotal role in holding the Congress party together during a meeting with Congress workers. He also accused the BJP of deploying a paid “army of trolls” on social media to tarnish the image of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, stating that they have been targeting him for the past eight or nine years. Gehlot alleged that the BJP has paid thousands of people to malign the image of Gandhi on social media.
It is important to note that the claims made by Mr Gehlot about Gajendra Singh Shekhawat’s involvement in the Sanjeevani Credit Cooperative Society scam are allegations and have not been proven in a court of law. Additionally, the remark made by Rahul Gandhi that led to his disqualification from the Lok Sabha was not related to the Modi surname, but rather a remark about the Rafale deal. It is also important to verify any claims made by politicians and not take them at face value.
Mr Gehlot was accompanied by Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) chief Govind Singh Dotasra and the AICC in-charge for Rajasthan Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa in the Jodhpur trip. The party is protesting Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification from the Lok Sabha following his conviction by a Gujarat court over a remark on the Modi surname. The CM repeated his allegation that Union minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat was involved in the Sanjeevani Credit Cooperative Society scam that defrauded a large number of investors. The minister has earlier denied the allegations and reported the “defamation attempt” to the police in Delhi.
