Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, and Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav met in Delhi, leading to speculation of a major coming together of opposition parties to take on the BJP in the national election next year. “Nitish ji has taken a good initiative of gathering all opposition parties under one roof. We are on board with this and like the way it is adding up,” Mr Kejriwal said after the meeting. The leaders discussed issues and decided to unite all parties and fight the upcoming polls in a united manner. The Janata Dal (United), Rashtriya Janata Dal and Congress are already in a coalition government in Bihar.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has said that India is going through a very difficult time and that the most corrupt government is in power since independence. Kejriwal, who heads the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Delhi, has often accused the central government, led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), of trying to derail Delhi’s progress through the Lieutenant Governor. The AAP and the BJP have a bitter rivalry in Delhi, and the upcoming national election in 2024 is expected to be a key contest between the two parties.
It seems that Nitish Kumar, the Chief Minister of Bihar, is working towards building a coalition of opposition parties to take on the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the upcoming national elections. Kumar has met with several opposition leaders, including Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, to discuss this initiative. The JD(U), Rashtriya Janata Dal, and Congress are already in a coalition government in Bihar, and Kumar is expected to meet with more opposition leaders in Delhi. Kharge has also been speaking with other leaders, such as DMK’s MK Stalin and Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray, in an attempt to unite like-minded parties against the BJP.
