Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a speech at the Global Buddhist Summit in New Delhi, highlighting the teachings of Gautama Buddha and India’s initiatives for global welfare. He stressed that Buddha’s teachings are eternal and have impacted countless people over centuries, and India is taking new initiatives inspired by those teachings. The Prime Minister also said that India is moving towards becoming a developed country in the “Amrit Kaal” and that Lord Buddha is the biggest inspiration behind this. India has resolved for the welfare of not only India but also for the whole wide world. PM Modi further stated that India has continuously spread the values of Lord Buddha, and the country has progressed rapidly in the last 9 years on the three points of Pariyakti, Patipatti, and Pativedha, which means Theory, Practice, and Realization. He emphasized the importance of the path of Buddha and how it is a path of sustainability and inclusiveness, and that the journey of solving problems is the journey of Buddha.
PM Modi also stressed that India has not given war to the world, but Buddha’s path of peace and inclusiveness. He said that the actual happiness lies in peace, and if the world wants to be happy, then the Buddha mantra of inclusiveness is the only way. The Prime Minister mentioned how India stands with humanity in times of crisis, such as peace missions in different countries of the world or a calamity like an earthquake in Turkey. He also informed the audience about how India played a key role in improving the Buddha Circuit in India and Nepal, and the country is working holistically in this direction.
