DELHI Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that the holdback in the induction of the Vihara-DND flyover isn’t due to the arrest of Manish Sisodia. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief announced on Wednesday that the induction of the Ashram flyover extension is likely to be held coming week and it’ll renew for commuters on Monday, March 6. “ The flyover extension was supposed to be thrown open to the public on Tuesday and had got the date from the chief minister’s office. But in light of the recent developments, we will now have to seek a new date from his office.
The work on the flyover extension has been completed, ” a functionary had said. The CBI on Sunday arrested Sisodia in connection with contended corruption in the expression and perpetration of the now- scrapped excise policy for 2021- 22 relating to the trade of alcohol. He was transferred to five-day guardianship of the CBI by a special court then on Tuesday. Officers said 95 per cent of the work is completed but some effects are left which will be completed within the coming many days. Officers said that the flyover extension will enable commuters to bypass three business lights between the Ashram Chowk and DND, making vehicular movement smoother and more accessible.
Presently, vehicles travelling to and from Noida and Ghaziabad to South Delhi have to struggle with traffic while exchanging from the DND circle to the Vihara crossroad. The induction of the pivotal flyover will take place after authorities missed two deadlines before. The detention took place due to the arrest of former Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia. Following the court reversal, Manish Sisodia abdicated as minister and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal accepted his resignation. However, Sisodia is likely to lose his seat and won’t be suitable to contest an election for six times, If doomed to two times or further in jail.
