Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju declined to comment on the Supreme Court Collegium issue, calling it a “mindgame”. He was asked about the pending recommendations of the Collegium related to the appointment of high court chief justices. Mr Rijiju was in Itanagar to dedicate 254 mobile towers for 4G services to Arunachal Pradesh. He highlighted the lack of infrastructure facilities in border areas with tough terrain as a major issue for the locals. Kiren Rijiju and Tapir Gao represent Arunachal Pradesh in Lok Sabha, and Mr Rijiju has previously been vocal against the Collegium system, calling it “alien to our Constitution”.
