Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Congress General Secretary, responded to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent statement about being verbally abused, stating that such attacks are a part of public life, and advised him to learn from her brother Rahul Gandhi, who is willing to take a bullet for the country. PM Modi had recently criticized the Congress for its leaders’ abusive comments towards him, claiming that they had abused him 91 times.
In response, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra commented, “At least they (91 cases of abuse) are fitting on one page; if you look at the abuses by them to my family and if we start making a list, we will publish books after books about it.” She also mentioned that she found it odd that PM Modi is complaining about being abused instead of listening to people’s grievances.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra then went on to cite past prime ministers who had made sacrifices for the country, such as Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, PV Narasimha Rao, and Manmohan Singh. She urged PM, Modi, to learn from her brother, who is prepared to take a bullet for the country, rather than simply tolerate abuse. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra concluded by advising PM Modi not to be afraid and to listen to the voice of the people.
