Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has stated that Lord Ram is not just an embodiment in stone or wood but is India’s identity and the centre of its culture and faith. Speaking at a conclave on the occasion of Ram Navami, Singh emphasized that the government will not only build hospitals, schools, and industries but also temples. He added that the people who suggest that a hospital, school, or industry be built instead of a temple do not understand Lord Ram or have not embraced him. Singh also noted that the northeast has come closer to Delhi due to the Centre’s efforts, resulting in unprecedented peace in the region.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also spoke about the “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” movement, stating that it has become more than just a slogan and has turned into a people’s movement. He emphasized the importance of women’s empowerment and how it has led to the strengthening of the armed forces. Singh highlighted the fact that women are now serving as fighter pilots and recently approved the induction of women in artillery, which is a significant step towards gender equality in the armed forces. According to Singh, the participation of women in the armed forces is a positive direction towards women’s empowerment and the strengthening of the military.
