Delhi Capitals earned their third victory in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 on Saturday, defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by seven wickets. The RCB team, batting first, scored a substantial total of 181/4 in 20 overs, thanks to half-centuries from Virat Kohli and Mahipal Lomror. Delhi Capitals, however, easily chased down the target with 20 balls to spare, thanks to an excellent 87 off 45 balls by Phil Salt. The game saw a heated moment when RCB pacer Mohammed Siraj lost his temper at Salt during Delhi’s chase.

After Salt hit Siraj for three consecutive boundaries, the bowler responded with a short-pitched delivery that Salt threw his bat at, resulting in the umpire calling it a wide. Siraj, unhappy with the decision, approached Salt and gave him a piece of his mind. DC captain David Warner attempted to diffuse the situation, but Siraj also directed his ire at him. However, the players put the incident behind them after the match, as evidenced by a photo posted by DC on Twitter, which showed Salt and Siraj hugging each other.

Regarding the match, David Warner scored 22 runs in 14 balls, while Salt topped the charts with an outstanding 87 off 45 balls. Mitchell Marsh and Rilee Rossouw also contributed with useful performances with the bat, helping Delhi to secure a comfortable win. With the victory, Delhi Capitals rose one spot in the points table, from 10th to 9th. Although playoffs qualification is still a challenging task, it is not impossible.

The IPL 2023 has seen some thrilling performances and some exciting clashes, with teams jostling for position in the points table. Delhi Capitals will be looking to build on their latest win as they seek to make a push for the playoffs. On the other hand, RCB will need to regroup and find their form again after this loss. The tournament promises to offer plenty more drama and excitement, with several matches left to play.
