Priyanka Chopra, the renowned Bollywood actress, and former Miss World, recently shared her experience of going through a botched nose surgery and its impact on her mental health during an interview on SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show. The actress said that she went through the doctor-recommended surgery to remove a polyp in her nasal cavity during the initial stages of her career, but the results were far from what she expected. “This thing happens, and my face looks completely different, and I went into a deep, deep depression,” said Chopra.
As a result of the surgery, Chopra revealed that she was fired from three films and was convinced that her career “was over before it started.” However, her father, Ashok Chopra, encouraged her to get corrective surgery and helped her build back her confidence. Chopra credited her father for holding her hand throughout the surgery and supporting her during the difficult phase.
Despite the setback, Chopra has managed to establish herself as a global star with a diverse range of projects under her belt. She is the first South Asian woman to headline the cast of an American television show with Quantico and has featured in many Hollywood projects including The Matrix Resurrections, Baywatch, The White Tiger, Isn’t It Romantic, A Kid Like Jake and We Can Be Heroes to name a few.
Chopra’s latest Hollywood project, Love Again, is set to release soon, and she will be seen alongside Sam Heughan, Celine Dion, and Nick Jonas (in a cameo appearance). The film was previously titled It’s All Coming Back to Me. She recently headlined Russo Brothers’ Citadel, a high-octane action series.
In Bollywood, Chopra’s next project is Farhan Akhtar’s Jee Le Zaraa, where she will be seen alongside Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif. With her hard work and dedication, Chopra has become an inspiration for millions of women around the world.
