Following heavy snowfall and severe rainfall conditions over the two days, vehicle movement has been blocked on nearly 245 roads of Himachal Pradesh, including four public roadways, on Saturday. The State Emergency Operation Centre informed that traffic movement along four public roadways including the Manali Leh National Highway NH- 03, Kullu’s Highway NH 705, Kinnaur Highway NH- 05 and Lahaul Spiti Highway NH 505 has been hit amid heavy snowfall. Meanwhile, excursionists have started rushing to the region to witness the snowfall.
” We didn’t anticipate snowfall then, but woke up to this mesmerizing view. It’s an experience in itself,” said a sightseer from Kolkata. The Indian Meteorological Department( IMD) has read dry rainfall for the coming many days in the state. In view of anticipated heavy snowfall, an alert has been issued in Himachal Pradesh’s advanced hill areas including popular sightseer spots like Chamba, Spiti, Kullu, Shimla by the Indian Meteorological Department, ANI reported.

Several sections of Himachal Pradesh experienced snowfall on Monday leading to dislocation of business movement in these regions. The movement of vehicles on Manali- Leh Highway between Rani Nallah and Rohtang Pass was broken down after snowfall in the area. All routine motorcars on the Keylong- Manali route have been stopped.
The advanced mound of Lahaul- Spiti and Kullu sections entered snowfall in the atomic hours. While speaking to ANI, Surender Paul, Head of India Meteorological Department( IMD), Himachal Pradesh, said, “ There won’t be any major change in rainfall in the coming 48 hours. The temperatures have dropped in the state. The rain and snowfall will continue after January 19 in most of the places in the state.” He added that, “ There will be heavy snowfall in Shimla & other corridors of the state in the coming week. Keylong in Lahaul- Spiti recorded the smallest min temperature of-11 degrees Celsius. There will be a drop in temperature in the coming days.”
