On Sunday, BJP spokesperson NV Subhash criticized Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s statement that the new Telangana Secretariat is a “symbol for Telangana’s reformation”. Subhash argued that people will not vote for Bharat Rashtriya Samiti (BRS) regardless of how many new structures the government builds.
He pointed out that when the combined state of Andhra Pradesh had a Secretariat that catered to all people’s needs, Chief Ministers used to come and designate time for common people to come and express their grievances. However, since KCR became the Chief Minister, he never came to the Secretariat, and all official programs, government programs, and cabinet meetings used to run from the Pragathi Bhavan.
The BJP leader added that the new Secretariat has been built with almost ₹ 1,200-1,500 crores of public money, and the people of Telangana are looking forward to a visible and approachable Chief Minister. He further stated that development is only possible in the state after the BJP comes to power.
KCR inaugurated the new Telangana Secretariat building on Sunday. The state-of-the-art complex has been designed to accommodate all government departments under one roof, making it easier for people to access different services. The building stands 265 feet tall and has been built over 10.5 lakh square feet across 28 acres.
In response to Subhash’s comments, Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) working president K Taraka Rama Rao stated that the BJP leader’s words show that the party lacks an understanding of Telangana’s history and development. He further added that the TRS government is committed to providing transparent and corruption-free governance to the people of Telangana.
