Top Indian wrestlers have called off a protest near the congress building following a government assurance that an inquiry into their allegations of sexual importunity of  youthful athletes by the confederation would be completed in four weeks. The wrestlers and their nearly 200 sympathisers held a sit- in protest for three days at Jantar Mantar in the capital, New Delhi,  criminalising the  confederation  chairman of sexually and mentally  draining  youthful  womanish athletes.

Olympic order- winning Indian wrestlers have indicted the chief of the sport’s governing body and several trainers of sexually harassing multiple woman athletes, with the opposition questioning the government’s silence.  Wrestlers ’ meeting with Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur remained inconclusive as they refused to back down from their demand that the government  incontinently disband the  confederation.

Olympic medallists Bajrang Punia, Ravi Dahiya, Sakshi Malik and world crown quarterfinalist Vinesh Phogat were part of the meeting. Thakur flew to Delhi from Himachal Pradesh after an earlier meeting between government officers and the protesting wrestlers remained inconclusive.  The wrestlers, led by Olympic citation winners Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Punia, began protesting in the capital New Delhi on Wednesday after  criminating the Wrestling Federation of India( WFI) President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh of sexual  impropriety.

Phogat said numerous wrestlers were  bullied from coming forward.   “ They’re frightened because of their family background. They can’t fight them because they’re  important”. ” Wrestling is our only livelihood and they aren’t letting us do it. Our only option is to die. So might as well do good before dying, ” she added. She didn’t state that she was a victim herself.  Indian Sports Minister Anurag Singh Thakur met protesting wrestlers again on Friday and said an inquiry into the allegations will be completed in four weeks.  He also declared that the confederation chairman “ will step away and help in carrying out the  inquiry ”.   “ Until  also, a commission will carry out day- to- day work of the  confederation, ” he said.
