Virat Kohli’s passionate celebrations during the Indian Premier League (IPL) match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals have gone viral. The RCB captain was visibly pumped up as his team got off to an impressive start, dismissing Yashasvi Jaiswal, Jos Buttler, and Sanju Samson early in the innings. Despite a disciplined bowling effort from the Royals, RCB managed to post a challenging total of 171/5, thanks to half-centuries from Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell.
Du Plessis, who scored 55 off 44 balls, and Maxwell, who scored 54 off 33 balls, continued their good form on a slower pitch. However, the Royals bowlers, led by Australian left-arm spinner Adam Zampa and pacer KM Asif, kept them in check to restrict RCB to a competitive total. Sandeep Sharma also chipped in with a wicket.
In the latter stages of the innings, Anuj Rawat played a cameo, smashing an unbeaten 29 off just 11 balls to take RCB past the 170 mark. Rawat’s quickfire knock helped RCB add 51 runs in the last five overs of their innings.
The Rajasthan Royals’ chase got off to a disastrous start, losing Jaiswal and Buttler for ducks in the first over itself. Samson also fell cheaply, dismissed for just four runs after a miscued shot was caught by Rawat. RCB’s impressive start was a major factor in their victory, as they ultimately won the match by 36 runs.
Kohli’s passionate celebrations during the match were a reminder of his competitive spirit and love for the game. The RCB captain has often been criticized for his aggressive behavior on the field, but his passion and commitment to the game have always been admired by his fans. The win against the Royals was an important one for RCB, who are aiming to make a push for the playoffs in the IPL 2023 season.
