Agastay Chauhan, a popular YouTuber with 1.2 million subscribers, died in a fatal crash on Yamuna Expressway in India. According to police reports, Agastay was riding a Kawasaki Ninja ZX10R at a speed of 294 kmph when he lost control and hit the divider on the expressway. The accident took place at the Tappal police station area in Aligarh.
Agastay was making a video for his YouTube channel, ‘Pro Rider 1000’, during the time of the accident. He was riding a superbike that is capable of reaching speeds of about 300 kmph and retails for upwards of ₹16 lakh in India. The bike’s inline-four engine can churn about 200 PS of power and 115 nm of torque while weighing a meager 207 kg, fully fuelled, ready to ride.
The police have recovered the action camera that Agastay used to record his high-speed run. Investigation reports reveal that Agastay had attempted to breach the 300 kmph mark on his bike previously as well. Reports also suggest that the helmet Agastay was wearing broke into several pieces, and he died of head injuries.
Speaking about the crash, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kalanidhi Naithani urged bike riders, especially youngsters, to follow road safety rules and keep in mind that other travelers are also on the highway with their families.
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX10R is an extremely quick motorcycle and can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in under 3 seconds and from 0-200 kmph in barely 10 seconds. It is considered dangerous even in the hands of experienced riders on public roads.
Agastay’s videos were extremely popular on social media, and he had a significant following. He had mentioned in his last video on the channel that he was headed to Delhi to check how fast the bike could go and would take it to 300 kmph to see if it could go beyond that.
This incident serves as a reminder for bikers to follow road safety rules and not endanger their lives and others while riding. It is crucial to be mindful of other travelers and their families on the road and exercise caution at all times.
