Trivikram Srinivas’ much-anticipated film, “Guntur Kaaram,” featuring the dynamic duo Mahesh Babu and Sreeleela, emerged as a big-budget release garnering immense attention during the festive Sankranthi season. However, in an unexpected turn of events, Prasanth Varma’s “HanuMan,” starring Teja Sajja and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, emerged as a surprising competitor, making waves not only in the Telugu states but also globally.

As the films entered their 8th day at the box office, trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan shared the worldwide business figures, revealing a significant difference in performance. According to his post on X account, “HanuMan” soared to ₹14.20 crore on its 8th day, while “Guntur Kaaram” maintained a slower pace with ₹4.59 crore.

Breaking down the journey of “Guntur Kaaram” from its release day, Manobala Vijayabalan provided insights into the film’s box office performance. Despite a sluggish start, the movie has been steadily progressing, aiming to join the coveted ₹200 crore club.

Here’s a day-by-day breakdown of “Guntur Kaaram’s” box office numbers:

  • Day 1: ₹82.08 crore
  • Day 2: ₹24.59 crore
  • Day 3: ₹22.36 crore
  • Day 4: ₹21.14 crore
  • Day 5: ₹13.92 crore
  • Day 6: ₹9.65 crore
  • Day 7: ₹7.11 crore
  • Day 8: ₹4.59 crore
  • Total: ₹185.44 crore

While “Guntur Kaaram” may have started at a high point on its opening day, the subsequent days saw a gradual decline in daily earnings. Despite the slower pace, the film is on course to achieving the coveted ₹200 crore milestone.

As the competition between the two films unfolds, the box office dynamics provide a fascinating insight into audience preferences and the impact of unexpected contenders. Whether “HanuMan” will continue its impressive run or “Guntur Kaaram” will pick up momentum in the coming days, the Sankranthi box office clash adds an exciting chapter to the narrative of Telugu cinema in 2024.
