A 30-year-old man was arrested by the police on Tuesday after an FIR was registered against him grounded on a complaint by his actor wife who indicted him of assaulting her, taking away her money and jewellery without her knowledge, having unnatural coitus, and dowry importunity.
An officer from the police station where the complaint was lodged said that the woman told police that she got in touch with the accused in January 2022 following which the accused opened a common business account. She contended that without her knowledge, her businessman hubby withdrew further than Rs1.5 crore from the account in June last time to buy a auto to which she didn’t expostulate as they were to get married around the time, an officer said. Later, she contended that the accused assaulted her on two occasions, begging her to lodge a non-cognisable complaint. As per the plaintiff, the man hovered her further than formerly saying he’d throw acid on her face or get her killed in a road accident, said the functionary. In her complaint, the woman said that on Sunday night, she discovered that Rs 5 lakh cash and her mama’s jewellery worth Rs2.5 lakh were missing from her cupboard.
The watchman later told her that the accused had visited the flat in her absence, the actor said. The woman also approached police on Monday night following which a first information report (FIR) was registered against the man under Indian Penal Code sections 406 breach of trust, 323 freely causing hurt, 377 unnatural offences and 498(A).
